The Comprehensive Plan is the six year plan that guides the Parks Department. Our projects, grants and direction are all based off of the Comprehensive Plan. This is the community's chance to voice what they want from their parks. Please take the time to complete this survey and let your voice be heard.
Mission
The Eastmont Metropolitan Park District (EMPD) mission is to enrich the quality of lives of community members; by providing recreational, educational, activities, facilities and experiences.
Purpose
The purpose of the EMPD Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan is to provide the framework to guide short and long range park and recreation projects. The Comprehensive Plan assists in the acquisition, development and improvements of park areas and facilities within the boundary of the Park District. This plan provides an inventory of existing parks and facilities, establishes goals and objectives based on community needs, determines the facilities necessary to meet those goals and objectives and outlines steps toward implementation. Community input is taken into consideration when creating the plan. We put out a survey for a month and collected responses to give us an idea of who our users are and what they would like to see.
